I am in love with my Mac.

I finished my last paper of the quarter while I was at work today!

THINGS LEFT TO DO IN THE QUARTER:
1. Turn in paper to the CHID office tomorrow.
2. Pick up BC and get second Hep A shot at Hall Health.
3. Return library book.

AND THAT'S IIIIIT.

I move out in about a week and a half and that is very strange to me. I've already started packing. Hmm.

Also, my next week and a half will be me working all the freaking time. I need moooooney!

I get to read books that I WANT to read now! Yes!

Sooooo... I won two scholarships through my dad's work worth $2,500 all together, which is pretty much bomb.

AND I'm going to CUBA for winter quarter! Sooooo freaking stoked about that. I seriously can't believe it.

And I'm applying for two different programs for the summer... could end up anywhere.

I really kinda sorta like life.

It´s always kind of interesting to see what I  end up reading while traveling, because I always switch out my books at book exchanges, usually in the hostels. Therefore, the selection is limited, but I´d rather read something than nothing at all. So, here´s what I ended up reading!

So BASICALLY, if you´re not following my travel journal: I love life.

Central America is amazing.
Chicken buses are fun.
Beaches are my favorite.
Heredia is a cool city and I´m glad I get to live here a month.

I ran an 8k today! And I finished! And I was pretty much in the middle of the pack! I can hardly move my legs right now but I'm pretty darn proud of myself.

My mom picked up about seven paper-shopping-bags full of clothes/shoes/books that I had packed up that I know I won't be using in the next two weeks.

My last finals are on Saturday the 2nd (yes, Saturday, shut up), and my dad's coming up on the 3rd to move 95% of my stuff home (unless I'm actually done packing, in which case I'll just be shipping on out!).

June 4th or 5th, Monday or Tuesday, anyone up for a traditional s'mores night at my house? You know, the usual "Mandie's leaving the country for a big chunk of time" deal.

I don't even really have that much left to finish... editing a Spanish paper (due tomorrow) and then the final, a Portuguese reading/review questions and the final, and a major paper for my physiology class and the final (which is take-home).

But now I'm procrastinating, because I have to finish this Spanish editing and I want a draft of my physiology paper by tomorrow reaaaaally badly... it's about nitrogen narcosis! Fun!

I keep setting myself up to get hurt, and so I'm ridiculously excited to leave this country and everything in it, if only to give myself a chance to break the cycle.

Three weeks and counting!

I am tan and I am going clubbing tonight with a very lovely lady. Unfortunately, the fact that she's half Mexican means that I will never beat her in the tanning game. Haha. Oops.

I have 9:30 classes every day this quarter but it's spring, it's beautiful, I'm single, and I'm out of class by 11:20 MWF and 1:20 TTh, so therefore I'm pretty much content with life.

My family is ditching me for Easter to go to Cabo, though. I think I feel unloved. I will be dying Easter eggs at my home and couchsurfing for the weekend so I don't feel as alone. Takers?

I think Thai food and pho makes up about 75% of my diet. Is that odd? I have a wok, I should learn how to make phad see-ew and make things easier on myself and my wallet.

I accidentally just set "Fergalicious" as the thing people hear when they call my phone instead of it ringing. That was uh, seriously an accident. Hey, mom, have fun!

Oops.

I've discovered that there are few things as awkward as going to Taco Del Mar for lunch with your very recent ex, only to kind-of-but-not-really run into a boy you happened to date a bit fall quarter of freshman year and then started slightly kinda ignoring. Ay. It was one of those "I think you saw me too, but we'll both pretend we didn't" kind of deals. Ew.

However, it is fun to have a Super burrito and have it last you more than all day. Things like that make me happy. Also, I have two boxes of Girl Scout cookies in my freezer, which also makes me very very happy.

I am currently writing my last paper for my CHID class, and then I only have that on Monday and Wednesday and then I'm done. Spanish final is on Saturday, International Studies final (and my ass-kicker) will be on Monday, and then adios, winter quarter! Next quarter should be much much easier, even though I do have 9:30 classes every day. It's worth it when you get out at 11:20 MWF, though, eh? Eh? Yes, I do think so!

Karma is cool, especially when you're watching it happen and not actually having it happen to you. Yes!

When I was in Prague, I went on an ebay binge and bought about five pairs of designer (well, at least they SAY they're designer) jeans. I haven't been able to fit into any of them. Well, with the sudden weight loss I've had (wheee not having any sort of appetite!), I am officially wearing my $190 Paper, Denim, and Cloth 29s. Granted, I didn't pay that much, but that's what the tag says. Haha. This is good.

AND ON ANOTHER NOTE, I just found something out about a particular boy that makes all the anger almost float away in a wave of pity and a profound sense of superiority. This is good as well.

Oh yeah, and my boyfriend just showed up at my work on his break from work with a teddy bear and a balloon and flowers.

I didn't think he'd even remember.

Awwwwwwww.

So apparently, when you call 911 to, say, make sure they're coming to the fire alarm going off in your building, they make your phone so that it can only call 911 for awhile. Interesting.

Also, MY EARS WILL BE RINGING FOR DAYS. Fifteen minutes of a ridiculously shrill alarm is noooot okay. At two in the morning. Sick as a dog.

Anyone live in Seattle and want a bomb full time job? Only catch is that you have to work mornings... and I mean, say, 6:30 to 3 every day. But, I mean, if you could work three days or something I'm sure my boss would love to work something out. Seriously. I love my job! You should work there too!

I'm getting my jaw looked at tomorrow/hopefully getting on the road to making it not hurt all the time. Maybe I'll stop twitching then, too.

Whistler this weekend. Yaaaaaay.

Oh yeah, PS. I'm taking a "spring break" from the night of Thursday the 15th until Tuesday or Wednesday the 20th or 21st, because that way Jess and I can split up spring break and both get a break without giving all the people we work with heart attacks because we'll be gone at the same time.

RUN ON SENTENCE AWARD.

Want to go somewhere with me and/or have me come visit you? I actually have to buy a ticket, so you better be cheap.

The following were in my stocking this morning:

1. A set of five calligraphy pens.
2. Reader's Digest in Spanish.
3. A hard plastic 2007 calendar from a Mexican fire department.
4. The original House of Cards, with designs from the MoMA.
5. An airplane puzzle.

Please guess which family member makes the stockings!
Oh, I love Christmas.

I'm leaving for Aunt Debbie's in a few hours, and then we come back for real presents tonight. My dad's meeting us there. He's been in Puerta Vallerta for the last few days. Poor guy.

So, I think it's really funny that I got the exact same grade in all three of my classes this quarter, especially when Spanish is such a breeze for me and I was just hoping to pull a high enough grade in criminology to keep me on the Dean's list.

I think I'm going to try really really hard in Spanish next quarter, just because I tend to slack since I know I'll do well anyway.

But I'm happy. My parents won't hate me! Yay!

A tree fell on my house!

And, the Volvo died two blocks away from the mechanic shop a few days ago, and a homeless man helped my dad push it to the shop. Hahaha.

I think we might've broken up again.

Strangely, I'm not really upset about it.

We'll see if it lasts this time.
